The KAS Journal is the oldest graduate student-run anthropology journal in the country.
An internationally renowned graduate-led anthropological journal, the KAS journal is published twice a year. The journal is available online in PDF format and also print subscriptions by request.
NEW website & Free online Articles:
We have recently re-constructed our website and have taken our journal online. All archives and new issues will be made available on our website in pdf format and also on the UCB Anthropology Library website. Article titles, authors and keywords are searchable on the web and also on the library search engine.
Hard copies of archives or current issues will be available upon request.
Call for Papers:
Submissions for Issues #104/105 (Fall 2013) is now open. See our submissions page for more information.
Aside from our regular call for papers, we also welcome submissions at any time. Submissions for our general volumes are evaluated through a peer-review process. We welcome sub-missions by faculty and professionals and remain particularly committed to publishing the work of students and junior scholars.
We also encourage proposals for interviews with distinguished anthropologists and book reviews of recent publications.

Since 1950, the UC Berkeley Journal has been publishing scholarly articles in all the anthropology subdisciplines and in related fields that are of theoretical and practical interest. In addition to our print journals, we now operate a digital open-access, peer-reviewed academic journal that is available worldwide to researchers and the general public for free.
